Connect a Pelco camera to VISEC.
Pelco is a long-established professional brand and its current IP cameras are ONVIF conformant, so VISEC finds them with a network scan. The two things worth checking first are that the camera has been given a password and that ONVIF is switched on in its web interface.
Press scan.
VISEC searches your network for ONVIF cameras and lists what it finds. If your Pelco camera already has ONVIF switched on, it appears here and you are watching live in a few seconds — nothing below is needed.
If the camera does not appear.
Menu names move around between firmware versions, so treat these as the place to look rather than an exact path.
-
Open the camera in a browser
Enter its IP address and sign in. If you do not know the address, run VISEC's scan first - it reports what it finds on the network.
-
Check the ONVIF or integration setting
Look under the network or system settings for an ONVIF entry and make sure it is enabled. On some firmware it is on by default.
-
Note the credentials ONVIF will use
If the firmware offers a separate ONVIF user list, add a user there and keep those details - VISEC asks for these rather than the admin login.
-
Scan from VISEC
Press scan, pick the camera from the list and enter the user name and password.
Once it is connected.
- Watch it liveOn its own or beside your other cameras, across up to 8 monitors.
- Record on motionChoose the part of the picture that matters and how sensitive it should be.
- Get an emailA snapshot the moment motion starts, so you know without watching.
