Connect a Mobotix camera to VISEC.
Mobotix cameras are unusual in a useful way: they do a lot of work on the camera itself and ship with their own management software. They also support ONVIF, but it is typically switched off until you enable it and give it its own password, so a scan finds nothing until that is done.
Press scan.
VISEC searches your network for ONVIF cameras and lists what it finds. If your Mobotix camera already has ONVIF switched on, it appears here and you are watching live in a few seconds — nothing below is needed.
If the camera does not appear.
Menu names move around between firmware versions, so treat these as the place to look rather than an exact path.
-
Open the camera in a browser
Sign in to the camera's own web interface with the administration account.
-
Find the ONVIF settings in the admin menu
Mobotix keeps this in the administration section rather than alongside the picture settings. Enable ONVIF there.
-
Set the ONVIF password
Mobotix asks for a password specifically for ONVIF access. Note it - this is what VISEC needs, not the camera's own admin password.
-
Scan from VISEC
Press scan, pick the camera and enter the ONVIF credentials you just set.
Once it is connected.
- Watch it liveOn its own or beside your other cameras, across up to 8 monitors.
- Record on motionChoose the part of the picture that matters and how sensitive it should be.
- Get an emailA snapshot the moment motion starts, so you know without watching.
