Privacy policy for the VISEC app.
The app talks to your own PC. Your video travels between your phone and that PC — we do not store it and we cannot view it.
Who we are
VISEC is developed by Philex Enterprises, Inc. and operated by Global Technologies Asset Partners, Inc. This policy covers the VISEC mobile app. The privacy policy for the Windows software and this website is a separate document.
For a privacy question, or to ask us to remove something, use the contact form. It reaches us directly.
What the app connects to
The app is a window onto VISEC running on your own Windows PC. It is not a cloud service. There is no VISEC account to create, there is no footage library on our side, and there is nothing to subscribe to. If your PC is switched off, the app has nothing to show you.
Your video
Live video, your recordings, and video from your phone's camera travel directly between your phone and your PC whenever a direct connection can be made.
When your network will not allow a direct connection, the encrypted traffic is forwarded through our own relay service so that the two ends can still reach each other. The relay passes that traffic straight through. That traffic is not stored, and because it stays encrypted we cannot view it.
VISEC does not store or view customers' camera footage.
Signing in
You sign in with the Remote Access username and password that you set on your own PC, or by scanning a QR code shown by that PC. We do not issue those credentials.
Each phone has its own key that identifies the device, and the secret half of that key never leaves your phone. The owner of the PC approves every new phone before it is allowed to connect.
For a phone you approve as a camera, our relay keeps a short record so your PC can recognise it next time: the phone's public key (the half that is not secret), an identifier worked out from that key, the name given to the phone, and the time it was approved. No video and no location is kept with it. Removing that phone from your PC deletes the record.
Using your phone as a camera
If you switch on “use this phone as a camera”, the phone's video goes to your own PC and nowhere else. If you allow location access, the phone's GPS position is sent with it — again, to your PC only. You can refuse location access and still use the phone as a camera.
Notifications
If you switch on push notifications for alerts, we store a push token for your device. That token is what allows a notification to reach your phone, and it is used for nothing else. Switch notifications off and it is no longer needed.
AI detection
Detection runs on your own PC, not on our servers. The models and the video they look at stay on that machine. No footage is sent to us for analysis.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal data. Not to anyone, for any purpose.
- No advertising and no third-party tracking in the app.
- Crash reports only if you send them. Nothing is reported automatically.
Removing your data
Remove the pairing between your PC and your phone — on the PC, or in the app — and the relay's record of that phone is deleted and its push token is no longer used. To ask us to remove anything else, use the contact form.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update this page, and note the date here.
