Connect an Axis camera to VISEC.
Axis cameras keep ONVIF users completely separate from their normal users, and once the camera has a password ONVIF stays locked until you create one. Create it and VISEC connects in seconds.

VISEC searches your network for ONVIF cameras and lists what it finds. If your Axis camera already has ONVIF switched on, it appears here and you are watching live in a few seconds — nothing below is needed.
If the camera does not appear.
Menu names move around between firmware versions, so treat these as the place to look rather than an exact path.

Open the camera in a browser
Enter the camera's IP address and sign in as root or an administrator.

Find the ONVIF accounts
On current AXIS OS go to System › Accounts › ONVIF accounts. On older firmware it is System Options › Security › ONVIF.

Add an administrator ONVIF user
Add a user with the Administrator role. root is not accepted as an ONVIF user name, and some firmware rejects special characters in the password — use letters, numbers, - or _.

Scan from VISEC
Press scan, pick the camera and sign in with the ONVIF user.
