For distribution centres and logistics depots

Every trailer that came through the gate.

A distribution site runs on a gate, a yard and a row of bays. The useful record is which vehicle was where, and when.

The situation

A load is disputed. A trailer is parked in the wrong bay for six hours. A vehicle comes through the gate out of hours. The yard is big enough that nobody saw any of it, and the gatehouse log is a clipboard.

What VISEC does about it.

  • Plates at the gateA camera at the entrance logs every vehicle plate with a time and a snapshot, which turns the clipboard into something searchable.
  • The loading baysMotion recording on each bay, so what was loaded and when is on record.
  • The yard and the aislesWide views across the yard, plus internal aisles if the warehouse needs them.
  • One screen, many camerasSixteen to a hundred or more cameras is typical, with installations running up to around 200 on suitable hardware, and views spread over several monitors.
What you need

The kit, plainly.

A plate camera at the gate aimed flat at the plate with infrared beside the lens, wide cameras over the yard and a camera per bay. A quad-core PC with a large drive, and an Nvidia GPU if the gate is multi-lane.

Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit, with 8 GB of memory. The installer is about 30 MB and roughly 200 MB once installed. For the AI features a graphics card with 4 GB and DirectX 12 is recommended, preferably Nvidia; without one VISEC uses the processor. Everything included

Questions

Before you set it up.

Can it handle a multi-lane gate?

Yes. Megapixel multi-lane plate reading is supported, and a GPU is what makes several lanes at once comfortable.

Can the gate open automatically?

For a known plate, yes, where the camera has output terminals - through ONVIF or Axis camera I/O.

Can plate readings go into our own system?

Yes. Readings can be passed out to a third-party or remote database for matching against your own records.
