For repair shops, body shops and tyre bays

Which car came in, and when it left.

A repair shop holds other people's vehicles overnight, which makes the yard the part that matters and the one nobody is watching after six.

The situation

A customer says their car was fine when they dropped it off. A set of alloys walks out of the parts store. A vehicle is collected and nobody is sure exactly when. All three are questions about a time, and a time is what a recording gives you.

What VISEC does about it.

  • Vehicles in and out by plateA camera on the yard entrance logs the plate and the time, so handover and collection are a matter of record rather than memory.
  • The workshop floorMotion recording over the bays, which also protects the technician when a complaint arrives weeks later.
  • The parts storeA small high-value room is the classic place for a camera with an alert on it out of hours.
  • Out-of-hours alertsA motion event can email a snapshot the moment something moves in the yard.
What you need

The kit, plainly.

A camera on the yard entrance angled at the plate, cameras over the bays, one on the parts store, and a PC somewhere dry and locked. Analog cameras you already own can join through a video server.

Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit, with 8 GB of memory. The installer is about 30 MB and roughly 200 MB once installed. For the AI features a graphics card with 4 GB and DirectX 12 is recommended, preferably Nvidia; without one VISEC uses the processor. Everything included

Questions

Before you set it up.

Can I keep my existing cameras?

If they are ONVIF IP cameras, almost certainly - that covers 99% of them. Analog cameras connect through a video server.

How long can I keep the recordings?

As long as your drives allow. As a rough guide, four or five cameras on a 500 GB drive hold three to four months, and VISEC can write across several drives.

Can it open the yard gate for a known vehicle?

Yes, where the camera has output terminals. A recognised plate can trigger them through ONVIF or Axis camera I/O.
