The situation
Outboards, electronics and tenders go missing from boats that nobody visits for weeks, and the busy season hides what the quiet season exposes. The gate and the car park are where a vehicle has to appear, whatever happens further in.

What you need
The kit, plainly.
Cameras with infrared and weather protection, network out to the pontoons (a link rather than a cable run if needed), and a Windows PC in the office. Salt air is hard on hardware — mind the enclosure rating. What a licence, a landlord or an insurer requires of a camera system is set locally and changes — check what applies to you rather than taking a software website's word for it.
Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit, with 8 GB of memory. The installer is about 30 MB and roughly 200 MB once installed. For the AI features a graphics card with 4 GB and DirectX 12 is recommended, preferably Nvidia; without one VISEC uses the processor. Everything included
Questions
Before you set it up.
Can cameras be a long way from the office?
Yes. A camera reachable over the network or an external address is added by address rather than by scan; use a lighter stream over a slow link.
Does it work in bad weather?
The software is unaffected; the camera's rating and a clean lens are what matter. Rain close to the lens does cause false motion — how to handle that.
Can berth holders open the gate themselves?
Yes, on a recognised plate or a QR code, where the camera has output terminals.
