Separate logins, separate access.
Anywhere more than one person uses the system, everybody sharing one login is the problem waiting to happen. VISEC lets you add users and set what each of them is allowed to do.

Two reasons. The obvious one is that the person who watches the cameras rarely needs to be the person who can change the recording settings or remove footage. The less obvious one is evidence: a recording is more persuasive when access to the system was controlled, and a shared password undermines that.
It also makes the site survivable. When somebody leaves, you disable their account instead of changing a password everybody knew.

Is this in the free license?
Yes. The free one camera license is the complete program, user accounts included.
Does each user need their own PC?
No. Users are accounts within VISEC. A paid license also covers installation on up to 3 PCs.
Can a user be limited to certain cameras?
User access is configured per account in Control Panel › Users. Camera groups also help keep a large list organised by location.
